Introduction to File Manager

Course Length: Approximately 40 hours
Prerequisites: The student should possess a general understanding of computers and data base or filing systems.

Introduction to File Manager has been designed for the student who is encountering File Manager for the first time. The basic File Manager conventions are covered, followed by a description of all available File Manager options.

Next, the data entry and edit option is explained. After each concept is covered, the student is given a short exercise to complete. File Manager is called interactively throughout the courseware to present the student with an actual File Manager session, not a simulation. After completing this exercise, the student will be quizzed on the concept.

All File Manager data types are covered in depth. One complete unit is dedicated to the word processing data type. Next, the data base inquiry option is covered. The student is presented with the same interactive sequence. First, the concept is covered. The student then interacts directly with File Manager to complete an exercise and then the student is quizzed on the concept. Finally, the student learns how to create simple reports.
