Introduction to M

Course Length: Approximately 40 hours
Prerequisites: The student should have a good understanding of computers and programming techniques

Introduction to M is a complete explanation of the Standard M language. The language is built in a logical progression, where everyday analogies are used in conjunction with graphics and text to explain each concept.

First an overview of M is developed. Its standards and application uses are covered. Next, a detailed description of the M database is covered. The concept of an array is graphically illustrated and explained. All language elements are explained through interactive animated simulation. The student is required to complete a series of interactive programming exercises throughout the course. Routines are written, syntactically checked and executed within an integrated full screen editor. Quizzes are interspersed throughout the course to test the students comprehension of the concepts.
