Coaching for Improved Performance

Prerequisites: The user must be generally able to navigate through a GUI application by clicking buttons and selecting menu items.

Coaching for Improved Performance focuses on interpersonal skills, emphasizing communication and improvement of management skills by using behavior modeling.

For maximum benefit, it is recommended that learners first experience the two foundation modules; Fundamental Skills of Managing and Fundamental Skills of Communicating prior to taking this course.

The audiences for this course are team leaders, supervisors, and first-line managers. Coaching is a team member development technique. A team leader helps a worker improve performance by one-on-one training with person to develop special skills. Once team a member's performance has been assessed, the team leader identifies specific areas that need improvement.

The Coaching For Improved Performance program will improve performance as a team leader. Specifically, it will improve relations with team members. Improved relations between the leader and their team members will improve their productivity. Improved relations will increase team member productivity and reduce the amount of stress in the workplace.

This course shows the leader how to demonstrate the needed skills to the team member and how to motivate him or her to pursue them. The result can prove rewarding for everyone involved.
