Developing Performance Standards

Prerequisites: The user must be generally able to navigate through a GUI application by clicking buttons and selecting menu items.

Developing Performance Standards focuses on interpersonal skills emphasizing communication and improvement of management skills by using behavior modeling. The audiences for this course are team leaders, supervisors, and first-line managers.

For maximum benefit, it is recommended that students first experience the two foundation modules, Fundamental Skills of Managing and Fundamental Skills of Communicating, prior to taking this course.

In today's business environment, there is a strong emphasis on quality in products and services. However, there is an equally strong expectation that everyone will be doing more, better, and with fewer resources. To meet these expectations, team members must be able to develop and executive clearly defined performance standards.

This course shows you how to establish specific, measurable, attainable, result-oriented and time-framed performance standards. It also illustrates the steps needed to gain team member agreement, and commitment, to those performance standards.
