Preparing for Change

Prerequisites: The user must be generally able to navigate through a GUI application by clicking buttons and selecting menu items.

Preparing for Change focuses on interpersonal skills emphasizing communication and improvement of management skills by using behavior modeling. This course addresses an audience of team leaders, supervisors, and first-line managers.

It is recommended for maximum benefit, that learners first experience the two foundation modules, Fundamental Skills of Managing and Fundamental Skills of Communicating prior to taking this course.

Change is an inevitable part of the life of all organizations. The world we live in is constantly changing. Organizations must continually adapt to this changing environment by changing themselves.

Although change is commonplace, it, nevertheless, presents problems to most people. Preparing for Change shows you how to introduce change without inducing defensive reactions. As the link between management goals and the frontline labor force, the manager or team leader is the key to preparing for change. Dealing with the "comfort level" of team members and involving them in detailed discussions will facilitate their acceptance of new ways of doing things.
